Shedeur Sanders was born on April 13, 2001, in Fort Worth, Texas. His parents are Deion Sanders, a former NFL All-Pro cornerback, and Pilar Sanders, a former reality TV star. Shedeur has two younger brothers, Shelomi and Shilo.

Shedeur began playing football at a young age. He attended Trinity Christian Academy in Cedar Hill, Texas, where he was a four-star recruit. Shedeur was ranked as the No. 10 pro-style quarterback in the country by 247Sports.

Shedeur committed to play college football at the University of Texas in 2019. He redshirted his freshman year and served as the backup quarterback in 2020. In 2021, Shedeur became the starting quarterback for the Longhorns.

As a sophomore in 2021, Shedeur threw for 2,830 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He led the Longhorns to a 5-7 record.

In 2022, Shedeur transferred to Jackson State University, where his father is the head coach. Shedeur led the Tigers to a 12-1 record and a berth in the FCS Championship Game. He threw for 3,231 yards, 30 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

Shedeur is considered to be one of the top pro-style quarterbacks in the country. He is eligible for the 2023 NFL Draft
